Get Gospel is a highly regarded, professional gospel choir based in London, UK. An exceptional collective of singers, Get Gospel are sought after both individually and as a gospel choir. We travel around the UK performing at weddings, funerals, corporate events, parties and flash mobs, as well as in the recording studio and on TV backing famous artists. We bring joy wherever we sing! Our bespoke, creative arrangements make us stand out above the rest, bringing a contemporary flavour to some absolute classics you’ll know and love, whether gospel, soul, pop or old hymns. We are not your ordinary gospel choir! As individuals and as a group they are highly in demand, working on adverts, TV, studio sessions, backing musical legends in different genres. Finalists in BBC Gospel Choir Of The Year 2015, we pride themselves in creative arrangements that that bring an up-to-date feel to amazing music from the last 6 decades, with a repertoire that spans classic and contemporary gospel tunes, to their own versions of pop songs and old hymns.  The members of Get Gospel have individually worked with incredible artists such as Foals, Gorillaz, Candi Staton, Gareth Malone, Jocelyn Brown, Blossoms, Pharrell Williams, Ellie Goulding, Muyiwa and Riversongz, Michael Ball, Alfie Boe and Keane among many others. Together they have performed for BBC Radio 1Xtra, BBC Radio 2, Songs Of Praise, BBC London and BBC Berkshire. They’ve also written and featured on adverts for Dr. Oetker, TK Maxx and Pilgrim’s Choice, for film trailers for Amazon Studios and The History Channel, sung at celebrity weddings, worked for countless corporate companies like Sainsbury’s and Amazon plus wonderful charities such as Cancer Research and Prostate Cancer UK. But above all this, they love seeing their music touch people at the events throughout normal life and being part of those special moments. We pride ourselves on great service and communication from start to finish and aim to help you make the best of your event during the inspiration to the planning stage to the big day itself. We've written lots of advice blogs and videoed nearly everything we sing so that you know 100% you are choosing the right group for your event.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Our joyfully exuberant interactive performances, our amazing voices and the way we make each song our own - we are not your run-of-the-mill gospel choir! We have perfect harmonies, beatboxing, beautiful and bespoke outfits to boot.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

As a group, we mainly perform at private events, though individually we have performed at iconic venues and TV, like Jools Holland, Glastonbury, BBC Live Lounge. And together we have performed at Abbey Road Studios for BBC 1XTra, on BBC Gospel Choir of the year at Hackney Empire and on BBC One, and multiple BBC radio shows.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Gospel greats like Kirk Franklin, Israel Houghton, Fred Hammond, soul greats like Stevie Wonder, Prince, rnb greats like Blackstreet, Mariah Carey, Lauryn Hill and pop greats like Calvin Harris and Bruno Mars.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Together, our most high profile gig was BBC Gospel Choir of the year final at Hackney Empire.

Do you have different line-up options?

Our minimum line up is 4 singers singing a capella and with backing tracks. We also provide 6 singers, 7, 10 and 12. You can add a pianist to any of our line ups. We can provide a PA system for up to 6 singers and pianist.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Do communicate with us even the smallest changes to the timing. Our singers are often booked to do a second gig afterwards, which may make it difficult to change the time. But we will always work with you to find the best solution. We have a large team to choose from, so we can swap singers if necessary.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

For wedding ceremonies and drinks receptions, we are happy to play a Spotify playlist or one that you give us, for no extra charge, before or in between our sets. If you would like an iPod service after our performances, we may be able to provide this for an extra fee so please do ask.

How much time do you need to set up?

For wedding ceremonies, we arrive 2 hours before our singing time to set up and liaise with vicars/registrars. For other events, it is usually 1.5 hours. Our minimum set up time for a quick 'get-in' is 25 minutes.

Can you roam around while you perform?

We have 6 cordless microphones and we also have a significant amount of a capella repertoire so we can be flexible with where we perform.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

For wedding ceremonies - yes definitely. For parties, receptions, other events, we are happy to work with you to find the best set list, taking in to consideration our experience in what works best in each setting!

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Our PA system up to 6 singers and pianist is included in the cost. We don't provide lighting. For larger groups, either the client should provide a PA system and sound engineer, or we can work together to source one at an extra cost.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Any hymns or worship songs that aren't listed on or repertoire list are free for us to learn. Other songs will need to be arranged an rehearsed and therefore incur an extra fee of £300 per song, or £200 per half song (e.g. for bridal entrance).

Get Gospel were one of key highlights of our special day! Their harmonious voices carried across the ceremony room so beautifully and added to the emotion of the occasion. Their vibrant a capella at our reception had all the guests clapping and singing along. Jules was fantastic at communicating with us all throughout the run up to the event and she creates incredible bespoke arrangements. We are so happy that we booked Get Gospel to enhance our special day!

Without doubt one of the best parts of our wedding, was having Get Gospel perform!!! They transformed our ceremony in to the most magical moment where everyone felt comfortable and involved, and instantly integrated themselves in to part of the family, rather than just 'wedding singers'... they got everyone going, singing and feeling the love! Then the drinks reception.... wow! Talk about getting the party started! Their beautiful/fun versions of well known songs that everyone knew really made it the most fun drinks reception we have ever been to!!!! If you love music, do not look anywhere else- Get Gospel have what you want. You will not be sorry!!! Get Gospel, we love you all so much!!
