George Simmonds is a professional trombonist, vocalist, brass arranger and bandleader living in Hastings, East Sussex. George has spent the last 15 years touring the UK & Europe with bands such as Tankus, The Urban Voodoo Machine and The Fallen Heroes, at festivals such as Glastonbury, Boomtown and Transmusicales. Alongside his session work, George is currently developing Funkamental, an original New Orleans-inspired funk-rock project, while co-leading The Sazeracs, a Hastings-based second line brass band performing classic and contemporary jazz, blues and funk from the Crescent City tradition. His recording credits span commercial releases across jazz, rock, funk and gospel, reflecting a broad and adaptable approach to performance and collaboration. George is available for touring, recording sessions, theatre and pit orchestra work, function bands, brass arranging and transcription, and is always keen to collaborate on exciting new musical projects.
