George Peguero Band

George Peguero Band is a unique latin music performance group based in London Lead by the Cuban born multi award winner singer/songwriter George Peguero and some Of the UK finest musicians. It came together in 1999 with the aim of performing original latin music and its repertoire is based in Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Bolero, Samba, Soca, Cha Cha, Cumbia, Latin Pop, Ballads, Afro-cuban Jazz, and Tradicional Son Cubano. George has been passionate about singing since the age 3 and was presented as a child prodigy in Cuba. He officially began performing at the age of 7 and toured his country appearing on national TV and radio regularly as a child. He performed every week at ‘Casa De La Trova’ in Santiago, and at the age of 18 moved to Havana City to carry on with his music studies at the Ignacio Cervantes Music School. While staying music he worked as a singer in Havana’s famous Venue ‘La Bodeguita Del Medio for over 3 years and years later joined the famous salsa Band at times ‘Carlos Manuel y Su Carapacho’. Years later joined Charanga Latina Band directed by Enrique Alvarez, legendary cuban violinist. The UK based band was born after George moved to London in 1988. He successfully produced 5 Studio Albums selling thousands of copies world wide and winning prizes such as: 1 MOBO Award and 3 Likes Awards as well as been Guest of Honour in Postojna City, Slovenia and Guest of Honour in Latin, Croatia. The band has performed for a number of prestigious events/people including: the UK Royal Family, The King of Morocco Mohammed VI, Harvey Nichols, Coventry Festival, London Olympics, Salsa Congress and a number of other large and international events across America, Europe and North Africa. They are proud to have also performed alongside Duffy, Alisha Dickson, original Pop Idol Will Young, The Gypsy Kings,Motown legend Wilson Picket, Julio Iglesias, Isabel Pantoja, Gilberto Santa Rosa and Elíades Ochoa. With a vast experience of catering for the requirements of corporate and private events, George Peguero Band is available for bookings both national and international as Solo Act, Duo, Trio 4 pieces band or up to 17 pieces Full Ensamble to cover all occasions.
