Pianist, Chamber Musician, Piano Teacher and Theory Tutor born in Shropshire, based in Cardiff.
George is a pianist currently studying at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (RWCMD) with Richard McMahon and Benjamin Frith of the Gould Piano Trio, and in September 2017 looks forward to studying a Masters degree in piano performance at the Royal Academy of Music studying with William Fong. Only 21 years old, George is already in high demand as a performer, accompanist, and teacher in the local area. George is three times winner of the Oswestry Youth Music festival, receiving a special award created for him in 2016; the Cherrington Award for musical excellence. This year he will be accompanying the contestants instead of competing, as well as performing in part of a past winners performance this coming March. George is also the winner of the 2016 Beethoven Sonata Prize at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, which led to him compete in the Intercollegiate Beethoven Competition last November, where he given a special mention for his playing. Last Summer, George was a finalist in the prestigious Ian Stoutzker Prize, performing in the Dora Stoutzker Hall. George also performed his concerto debut in this wonderful hall back in 2015 where he performed Grieg’s Piano Concerto with conductor Tianyi Lui. George regularly performs with duo partner Sioned Evans performing Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Suite for the Rachmaninoff Festival in Cardiff 2015/16 and Schubert’s Fantasie and Rachmaninoff’s Op. 11 Piano Suite in Hereford Cathedral last October. George looks forward to performing with the National Youth Wind Orchestra of Wales in April performing Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue and performing in the finals of the Ian Stoutzker Prize in June 2017.
