Gavin Zev graduated with a Masters of Performance in 2014 from the Royal College of Music, London where he studied flute with Katie Bedford and Gareth Davies and piccolo with Christopher Green and Stewart McIlwham. During his studies he was generously supported by the Tait Memorial Trust and the Opus 50 Charitable Trust. Prior to graduating from the Royal College of Music, he also received a Bachelor of Music Performance with First Class Honours from the University of Sydney (Sydney Conservatorium of Music) where he studied with Geoffrey Collins.
Gavin has performed with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra 1813 at the Teatro Sociale di Como, the Chipping Campden Music Festival Orchestra Academy and Opera Holloway as well as a soloist in recital at the Foundling Museum in London. He has also toured around Europe with the Australian Youth Orchestra under Maestro Christoph Eschenbach and is currently a member of the Bax Trio (Flute, Viola and Harp) which regularly performs in the UK and Spain.
