About Franco Pellicani

I am a versatile and energetic drummer with 20 years of experience, who loves to support Music with creativity and ethos.
Drummer
London

I have 20 years of experience in drumming and 9 years in teaching. I am proficient in a wide variety of music styles, including Jazz, Rock, Pop, Funk, Afro-cuban, Brazilian, Metal, Free-form and improvised. I am a confident sight reader, a quick learner and I am comfortable with click tracks. I also have skills in music theory, history of music, music production and arrangement.  Always heavily involved into my regional music scene, I moved to London in 2019 to share paths with the group “Tankus The Henge”, with which I have toured extensively across the UK and Europe, leading large-stage performances at the likes of Glastonbury, Boomtown, Transmusicales, Isle of Wight, and hundreds of medium-sized festivals and venues.  Throughout my professional career, I have recorded and performed as a session musician and as a core member of a vast array of projects, including soundtrack, function and original music, some of which have also seen me in production roles. I studied BA in Jazz Drums at the “Conservatorio di Musica di Perugia” and privately with Gregory Hutchinson, Roberto Gatto, Christian Meyer and Ron Savage, amongst others.

Franco was exactly what I was looking for in a drummer! He had an incredible connection with the other performers and he really lit up the stage with the energy he brought behind the kit. He contributed to the band by supporting the music with a creative personal touch, which was very welcome! He pays attention to everything that is happening, besides having wonderful timing and dynamics, incredible technique and, most importantly, a natural sense of musicality.

Franco is one of the most technically proficient drummers I’ve ever played with. He has it all: timing, creativity and power. If you are looking for a drummer who knows how to play rock, well, he is the man! Actually Franco’s unmatched musicality and stunning technical abilities allow him to play many different styles of music. His jazz and fusion playing is amazing! He is a great session man and a cool performer on stage. Also, he has sound engineering skills and qualities and he’s an excellent producer too. The best bandmate you can find out there!
