Francisco Gaspar Tomás López

I rembember being a child and becoming in love with music when it was played by the wind bands in the streets of my town. I started studying trumpet at the age of 6 and decided becoming a professional trumpet player because I couldn't imagine my life wihout music. In Conservatorio Superior de Música "Óscar Esplá" de Alicante I decided to study both Interpretation Bachelor and Pedagogy Bachelor, being awarded the Extraordinary Prize by the end of both Bachelors. In the same conservatory I studied a Research and Interpretation Master Degree. Some of the youth orchestras I have being member of are Joven Orquesta Nacional de España, European Union Youth Orchestra, Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, Lucerne Festival Academy Orchestra & Grafenegg Academy Orchestra. I was selected for being an orchestral academist at Orquesta y Coro Nacionales de España, Real Filharmonía de Galicia & Chamber Orchestra of Europe. So far, I have played with a wide variety of professional orchestras, such as Orquestra Clássica do Sul, Orquesta Sinfónica de Bankia, Orquesta Ciudad de Granada, Oviedo Filarmonía, Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra, Lucerne Festival Alumni Orchestra, Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa, Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León, Orquestra Simfònica del Gran Teatre del Liceu, Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid, Orquestra Sinfónica Portuguesa & Orquesta y Coro Nacionales de España. As a music lover, I have being involved in different chamber music groups with friends who love music as much as I do. Levante 5ound Brass (brass quintet, from 2012-2014) took part in different competitions, being awarded in Valerino Machí Esparza & Música Viva. liga2 (percussion and trumpet duet, created in 2017) was presented in the festival Villena Brass-Fest and took part in the national competition Villa de Cox, being awarded the 2nd prize. SOFT - Spanish Original Flugels & Trumpets (trumpet ensemble created in 2020) recorded a CD with music from the composer James M. Stephenson. In 2017, together with the Alicante University, the festival Villena Brass-Fest was launched in my hometown, inviting different musicians to give masterclasses and play concerts. The 2 editions in 2017 and 2018 were very welcomed by its students and concert public. In the last years I have being teaching in different music schools and conservatories. At the moment I am teaching in Conservatorio Superior de Música "Manuel Castillo" de Sevilla.
