We are passionate about playing and arranging folk music. We can cater for a range of occasions, including background music for events, music to get people dancing and atmospheric folk covers. We also have a ceilidh set up complete with three piece band and caller.

Folkus played our afternoon event at our wedding. They learned my Wife’s aisle song and our exit song for the ceremony and then played 2 1/2 hours of folk music on the lawn whilst people had drinks and canapés. They made our wedding so beautiful and special. Tom and Zosia are incredible musicians, absolute professionals, and lovely people who made our day perfect. They sent us videos of our songs before hand to check we were happy and were super flexible on the day. I would recommend them completely to anyone for any event!

Folkus were one of the highlights of our wedding. Their set fit perfectly with the beginning of our reception as music whilst people had drinks and canapes. It was wonderful and a few guests started dancing unexpectedly. Only regret not having them on for longer. Thanks Zofia and Tom

Folkus were an absolute pleasure to have at our wedding. They arrived on time and without issues, remained communicative throughout the day and offered up advice on where and when to play during the day to keep things running smoothly. I had plenty of guests approach me saying how lovely the pair were, and even got a few people moving before the dancefloor opened! The music was gorgeous, and played impeccably - I can't recommend them enough! Thank you very much for making our day special :)

Folkus played our wedding, both whilst we signed our marriage certificate and for our drinks reception. Fantastic music, great communication beforehand, would highly recommend. I could listen to them play all day and night.

Folkus were our choice of ceilidh band for our wedding reception and they were absolutely amazing! We knew we wanted a special night with all of our friends and family where everyone was up and dancing together, and having experienced a ceilidh once before we knew it was what we wanted to celebrate our wedding. All the members of the band were so friendly, relaxed, accommodating, and professional, and listening to them setup and perform their sound check prior to the party was an absolutely magical experience. Once the night began the band kicked off with a fun and simple piece that had more than half of our guests up and dancing straightaway. This quickly inspired more of our more guests to join in and by the end of the night, almost everyone was up and having an amazing time. Folkus arranged the night to be accessible to everyone, with simpler numbers early on so the children could get involved, and as everyone became more confident and experienced the complexity and speed ramped up! We had a half hour interlude in the middle, breaking the evening into two halves, and the caller was brilliant at reading the crowd, explaining the instructions, taking us through the steps, and allowing respites between tunes. Utterly amazing! It was such a fantastic night and a truly special memory, and we’re already busy planning an excuse for another ceilidh!! Thank you!!

What a lovely refreshing folk duo! Great musicianship, really enjoyable to listen to. Violin and guitar- wonderful varied folk music- foot tapping!! Excellent communication throughout- very reliable and friendly. Exactly what we were looking for- guests loved it too- thank you so much !

Do you have different line-up options?

Yes, we can perform as a duo or trio. We are also available as a ceilidh band with 3 musicians and a caller.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We understand that sometimes timings have to be altered so let us know in advance and we will do our best to make any necessary changes.

How much time do you need to set up?

If plugged in, we require approximately an hour to setup.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

We are open to discuss particular pieces you would like us to play and will try our best to adapt our performance to suit your individual needs. We play both upbeat and more relaxed/background music.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Our PA system is included in your quote. The amount of space we need is dependent on the kind of setup you need: eg. a fully acoustic setup uses less space.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you. There is a fee of £50 for this service to take into account rehearsal times etc.
