Indonesian pianist Felix Justin started his first private piano lesson in the age of 4 with Yvonne Wibowo. During his study in Yamaha Music School, Felix also joined several Yamaha Piano Concerts and won several prestigious Yamaha Piano Competitions. Because of his curiosity in learning music and his dream to become a professional musician, Felix continues his journey to study music further in Utrecht University of Arts, Netherlands under tutelage of Henry Kelder after he finished his pharmacy study in Indonesia. Felix completed his Bachelor of Music degree with cumlaude and also nominated for EMIR Steyerbergprijs. He also received artistic guidance from world renowned pianists and pedagogues for instance John Lill, Leslie Howard, Igor Roma, Piotr Paleczny, Barbara Grajewska, Eugen Indjic, Daniël Wayenberg, Martyn van den Hoek, Fumiko Eguchi, and Klara Wurtz, among others. In 2014 Felix was also chosen to be the part of exchange programme between Utrecht University of Arts and Showa University of Music. Furthermore this year he has a big opportunity to be accepted in Erasmus exchange programme in the Royal College of Music, London under the tutelage of Edna Stern and Konservatorium Wien Privatuniversität, Vienna under the tutelage of Karl Barth to develop his musical knowledge and broaden his international career. In the same year, Felix won the first prize in Vrienden van Cultuurprijs 2015, a competition for young pianist in Netherlands and Belgium. He performs both nationally and internationally, and as a soloist as well as with other instrumentalists. His interest in music also leads him to work with singers, choirs, and chamber music. In his hometown, Felix has been a pianist and organist in his parish, St. Mary Immaculate Church, for 15 years. He accompanied several choirs either in a service or in a concert since 2006. In order to develop and broaden his passion in lieder and accompaniment, Felix has received coaching from Rudolf Jansen, Hans Eijsackers, and Maurice Lammerts van Bueren. Felix has been performing extensively with the singers and saxophonist in several venues, for instance Hermitage Amsterdam, De Doelen Rotterdam, Stadschouwburg Tilburg, and Radio 4 Netherlands.
