Organist

Paris

Etienne Desaux is an arranger and orchestrator (see achievements list under the Paris Conservatoire studies section). As a Conservatory Professor, he teaches harmony, counterpoint and arrangement at the Toulon Conservatory. He has composed some pieces for choir on folks tunes, and has transcribed romantic pieces for the orchestra. With his skill in understanding music immediately, he has also been hired as a piano-accompanist by the Toulon Conservatory. He was so happy by this new endeavor that he enrolled in the piano accompaniment class for further studies at the Marseille Conservatory where he was awarded a first prize magna cum laude. Subsequently to organ performance studies at the Strasbourg Conservatory where he had been awarded a first prize magna cum laude, he was hired as titular organist at St Christophe-de-Javel's Church in Paris. This position involves skills in keyboard harmony, improvisation, and organ performance. He has also won the ‘Prix Monsaingeon,’ and the first prize at the St Pierre-lès-Nemours organ performance competition.
