Ethan is an award-winning trumpeter and composer based between Northampton and London, working across theatre, jazz, commercial, classical, film, and media music. A versatile performer and writer, he brings a high level of professionalism to every project, whether on stage, in the studio, or behind the score. He graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in 2022 with a First-Class BMus (Hons) in trumpet performance, where he was a Beatrice Taylor Scholar, a Wolfson Instrument Scholar, and a semi-finalist in the Trinity Laban Soloists Competition. His trumpet teachers include Andy Hendrie (BBC Symphony Orchestra), Paul Beniston and Anne McAneney (London Philharmonic Orchestra), and William O’Sullivan (English National Opera). He has also received training through masterclasses and projects with Mike Lovatt, Stuart Brooks, Bob Farley, Antony Cross, Marco Blau, Russell de Vuyst and the Royal Scottish Guards. Ethan has performed worldwide on touring productions, theatre shows, festivals, national stages, and studio sessions. His performance credits include iconic venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Cadogan Hall, the Barbican, LSO St Luke’s, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Angel Studios, the Victoria Memorial at Buckingham Palace, Disneyland LA and the Donmar Theatre. He has performed alongside Katherine Jenkins and Mike Lovatt, and has played with ensembles including the London Film Music Orchestra (on their UK/Ireland “Best of Hans Zimmer and John Williams by Moonlight” tour), Babel Brass, the Ned Dylan Band (supporting The Zutons), Giardino Strings, the Chipping Campden Festival Academy Orchestra and a Jubilee band for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. As a composer, Ethan has built an increasingly recognised portfolio across film, TV, theatre, and recorded music. His work on the superhero short film Vajra earned Best Film at the 2025 GRAFTAS, and his animated short Terra Firma—co-created with animator Dean De Barros—won the A Night of Misfit Films Choice Award at the Fantasy Film Festival in Paris (2023). His screen credits include Vajra, Missed Contact, From Darkness to Light, Second Chances (TV) and Among the Stars: Terra Firma. His theatre work includes composing for East Lab Dance Company’s Arts Council England–funded touring production Frocks, Socks, and the Orange Fox. Alongside commissioned work, Ethan releases his own projects, including the audio-visual album Among the Stars, the motorsports-inspired EP Revolution, and the singles Solstice and Duet. He has studied composition with Adam Saunders, Guy Harries, Matthew Regan, Kit Massey and Philip Colman. With a background that spans orchestral performance, commercial music, film scoring, theatre collaborations, and cross-disciplinary creative projects, Ethan brings adaptability, technical skill and a distinctive artistic voice to every engagement.

Working with Ethan on my final major project was a great experience. From creating notes of the music structure to creating the soundtrack, his professionalism made the post-production process smooth. The music he composed perfectly matched my vision and added a deeper emotional layer to the film, elevating it beyond what I had imagined. Charissa - Director of From Darkness To Light

Ethan produced some playful and engaging music for our production of ‘Frocks, Socks, and the Orange Fox’ in 2023. We gave Ethan some ideas of what we were looking for and he went away and worked his magic! Using real life sound effects, combined with use of a variety of instruments, this piece of music allowed our story to come to life, and our 3-6 year old audiences loved it! We can’t wait to work with Ethan again in the future! Matilda - Director of East Lab Dance Company
