Estilo String Quartet

Estilo is one of the busiest and most popular string quartets working commercially in the UK and abroad. We frequently play for weddings and parties, have recorded for theatre, film, backing strings for various pop artists and released an album and several singles on CD and digital download. We work for leading event planners such as Mark Niemierko at Niemierko, Liz Linkleter, Liesl Lamare at Lamare London, Planned 2 Perfection, Bruce Russell, Quintessentially Events, Bijou Bride, Celeste Rose, Something White, Carmen Weddings, The Pink Pumpkin and Danielle Nay. We have an eclectic and unrivalled repertoire from Bach and Mozart to Clean Bandit, Bastille, Muse, Father John Misty, Lana del Rey and Beyoncé. Estilo has been nominated for the Perfect Wedding Awards (Best Entertainment) and has won Jacqueline Gold’s (CEO Ann Summers) #MOM Men on Monday twitter award. In 2012 Estilo was chosen by renowned businessman and former Dragons’ Den star Theo Paphitis as a #SBS Small Business Sunday winner. In 2014 we released our first album Marriage in an Orange Grove, a collection of modern pop songs arranged for strings by Michelle Taylor-Cohen, which is available on CD and digitally through iTunes, CD Baby and Amazon. We launched the album with a concert at Cre8 Lifestyle Centre in Hackney. In 2015 and 2016 we released four digital download singles. Fairytale of New York was launched to great success in 2015 - reaching Number 1 in the iTunes classical chart. Come What May in February 2016 (iTunes classical chart Number 5) and Pompeii and Tenerife Sea followed in May and July this year, both breaking into the iTunes Classical Chat Top 10. In 2018 we released our second album Alternative Tracks on CD, download and streaming. We were recently filmed and recorded playing for the E4 show Made in Chelsea which featured in Episode 5 of Series 10. We played for the Professional Publishers’ Association Centenary Gala, the opening of Oscar de la Renta Bridal on Mount Street (for Niemierko) for BOSS, events for H&M, Mayfair Magazine Awards, and with the trumpeter Tine Thing Helseth during the turning on of the Regent Street Christmas Lights for Classic FM/EMI. We played during the ceremony for the wedding of the late Peaches Geldof, for Greg Churchouse from Scouting for Girls, for Estilo has featured in Wedding Ideas Magazine, London Bride, Hello! East London Radio, Rock My Wedding and numerous wedding blogs. Our musicians have performed, toured and recorded with artists such as Rita Ora, Father John Misty, Adele, Lana Del Rey, Anna Calvi, Portishead, Sam Smith, Professor Green, Lucius, Pixie Lott, Chase & Status, One Direction, Kanye West, Westlife, Goldfrapp, McFly, Emili Sandé, Gnarls Barkley, Lemar, Michael Bublé, Dizzee Rascal, Heritage Orchestra, Take That and Gorillaz. Estilo musicians have played at festivals including Glastonbury, Sónar and Latitude, Radio 1 Big Weekend and on TV shows such as X Factor, BGT, This Morning, Children in Need, Later, Daybreak and Strictly Come Dancing. We are members of groups including the BBC Concert Orchestra, Heritage Orchestra, Army of Generals, Birmingham Royal Ballet and Southbank Sinfonia and freelance with orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia, BBC Symphony, London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Opera House, English National Opera, and in West End shows including Hamilton, Funny Girl, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Aladdin, Big Fish, Kinky Boots, West Side Story, A Little Night Music, Love Story, South Pacific, Sweeney Todd, Matilda, Ghost, Top Hat and War of the Worlds. Estilo regularly performs at the major venues in London and the South. Our most recent engagements have taken place at: 11 Cavendish, Claridge’s, The Connaught, The Dorchester, Banqueting House, Highclere, Millbridge Court, Cain Manor, Home House, The Ritz, One Mayfair, One Marylebone, Kensington Palace, Park Lane Hotel, Spencer House, Stapleford Park, Notley, Abbey, Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, Royal Opera House and Coworth Park. We are preferred suppliers at venues including Millbridge Court, Ardington House, Clissold House, Drapers’ Hall, Bilsington Priory, Hackney Venues and Cooling Castle Barn. We love to perform abroad too and In August 2015 we played at a high profile wedding in Pollença, Mallorca with Quintessentially.
