Norwegian cellist Erlend Vestby is in high demand as a chamber musician, frequently performing with small ensembles and chamber orchestras, often as guest principal. This includes Opera Holland Park, Brandenburg Sinfonia and Baroque Soloists, Florilegium, Orchestra Nova, the Dutchess of Edinburgh String Orchestra, Piccadilly Sinfonietta, Gabrieli, Gothic Opera and Sinfonia Smith Square. He has been a soloist with various orchestras both in the UK and abroad. As a recitalist he has appeared on Classic FM, the London Festival of Baroque Music and Dart Music Festival. Erlend is a graduate of the Royal College of Music kindly supported by the Anglo-Norse Society. Erlend’s versatile musicality makes him not only a performer, but also a composer, teacher, and a keen researcher and lecturer on early 18th and early 20th century performance practices where the music of Bach and Elgar stand central.

There is not one thing that I can fault Erlend for in regards to hiring him for a studio session of an original composition I made. Erlend's Playing was absolutely spot on, and it was brilliant to have the live feedback of a clearly very experienced cellist. Communication, Professionalism, and Punctuality were all brilliant. Incredibly satisfied with the end result too.

Do you have different line-up options?

Classical cello or baroque cello (or both for an additional fee)

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I always try my best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let me know

How much time do you need to set up?

I only need about 10-15 minutes in most cases, such as wedding ceremony and receptions. If you book me for a solo concert I aim for 30-45 minutes so I can familiarise myself with the acoustics of the space before I begin.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes. The only thing I require from you is an armless chair and shade (if performing outdoors).

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

If a song isn't included in my song list there may still be a chance I already know it. If there is a special song you'd like me to learn I am happy to do this for you. However, depending on complexity, number of songs requested and short deadline, there might be an additional fee for this.
