Fi Fie Folk plays folk music from across the world. We play ceilidhs (including calling), parties, bar mitzvahs and more across the UK.

Fi Fie Folk began as a group of friends at the University of Cambridge, sharing tunes we enjoyed. Over the years we have explored new styles, and have responded to commisions to build a fun and varied repertoire. We have performed at several Cambridge May Balls including Jesus College May Ball, where we played on the main stage (after the headliner, Clean Bandit). Since then, we have performed across the country, playing for ceilidhs, bar mitzvahs, birthday parties, and even for diplomats in the Foreign Office. Between the group, we play - guitar, violin, accordion, piano, clarinet, saxophone, flute, double bass, electric bass, pennywhistle, bodhran and spoons. Our repertoire includes traditional British and Irish folk music, klezmer, folk-rock and special requests of any genre for private gigs.

Thanks to Emma Folk Band my family and I will always cherish my husband’s 75th birthday celebration made especially memorable by them giving him a private surprise performance, playing all his most liked folk songs and giving a super rendition of his favourite rock n roll song 'Johnny B Goode'. The band made a truly wonderful day for him, giving and feeling a happiness we will always remember.

I can safely say that Emma folk band ceilidhs are the best kind of ceilidhs! Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, their ceilidhs are so much fun. They feature a great mixture of dances, from ceilidh classics to some funky new ones, from fast-paced to not so fast-paced and from relatively simple to slightly more complex! Regardless, the vibe is always really friendly and relaxed and all the dances are demonstrated beforehand, so anyone can give them a go. The band are so talented and as well as dancing to them you can also listen to them play during the much-needed rest breaks! Entertaining and energetic, I would 100% recommend them!
