Emma is currently training at the Royal Academy of Music (Ma in Musical Theatre). Prior to this she gained a first class BA (hons) in Music from the University of York. At York Emma performed with a number of ensembles including The 24 under the direction of Robert Hollingworth, The Willow Consort, Spectrum, The Calamity Consort, Vox (a cappella group), and Vocal Point (musical theatre ensemble). Emma is a member of the National Youth Choir of Great Britain with whom she has recorded a number of projects, including a celebration of Benjamin Britten’s work for his 2013 centenary, as well as performing at prestigious venues across the UK. As well as formal training Emma has had workshops with Claude-Michel Schönberg, Fra Fee, Killian Donnelly and Claire Moore and worked alongside Dicken Gough, James Gilchrist and John Hurt in a variety of film and stage productions. Emma is also a member of the National Youth Theatre and the Managing Director of Shave and a Haircut Theatre: a new theatre company in York specialising in showcasing new comedy writing. In the future she hopes to establish her own theatre company, focussing on site-specific and immersive performance.
