Having been performing and teaching for the past 20 years, musically my current focus is on the street music and dance of the Renaissance. I take part at the annual recreations at Kentwell Hall where I portray a 16th century travelling player, entertaining visitors and teaching dances of the era. Outside of reenactment I have played at banquets and weddings, formal and informal gatherings. My remit can also broaden out to a more general street performer and I have taken various characters to festivals and events including a piping woodland sprite, a magical themed musician at a Harry Potter event, a dragon themed musical character at Colchester light and shade festival. I also run workshops on a Tudor music and dance theme for schools and community groups, and play within several early music ensembles.

Hi Em Thank you soooooo much for such an amazing musical and thespian experience at our party. You, Sam and Rachel were terrific. Everyone was touched by your contributions, both setting the atmosphere at the beginning, your little playlet to start off our speeches, and then entertaining us through the meal which made all the difference as we were dispersed into different sections so each group had their own special piece of attention! And last but definitely not least... the Tudor dancing... fantastic! It worked so well having three of you, each group had somebody looking after them - everyone enjoyed themselves - such happy faces! Oh I also wanted to feedback that you were so great in the planning stages too. I immediately felt confident and trusted you knew what I was looking for and that I could rely on you. So thank you for that too as its always a bit stressful organising a big event, so you made this part so easy. Well done Em - terrific work - and even better as you all looked so happy too! If anyone ever needs encouragement to hire you just send them my way and I'll persuade them!
