Emma Dove is a 22 year old Clarinettist specialising in Classical music. She completed her degree at Leeds College of Music In July 2017 (BA (Hons) Classical Music). She began learning the Clarinet at the age of 9 and later taking up both the Piano and Saxophone which she plays to a similar standard.
Since beginning Music tuition Emma has completed many of the ABRSM grade exams, Including Grade 8 Clarinet and Grade 6 theory. She has also been involved in many bands and orchestras throughout her educational experience. These have included the Leicestershire Arts in Education Wind Orchestra, The Leicestershire School Symphony Orchestra and the Leicestershire Big Band. Through these Emma has performed in many tours including: Austria (2012), Barcelona (2013) and Prague (2014). As well as Emma’s involvement with Leeds College of Music’s Chamber Orchestra and Wind Ensemble she is also is part of Oadby and Wigston Scout and Guide Band. She is also a member of Compass Clarinets, a Clarinet Quartet, at Leeds College of Music. Through this Emma has performed in many different concert settings, such as playing as entertainment in care homes and performing concerts in different churches.
Emma has gained experience playing in pantomimes and Operettas where she got the opportunity to play both the Alto Saxophone and the Flute. As a result to being a member of so many different ensembles Emma has gained experience in playing many different instruments, including the Eb Clarinet and the Baritone Saxophone.
Emma has also gained experience through teaching both the Clarinet and Piano to many younger pupils.
Emma enjoys playing in both solo and ensemble environments with particular interest into Classical and Romantic Music.
Emma’s proudest moment to date was playing at the Royal Albert Hall with the Leicestershire Schools Symphony Orchestra for the Music For Youth School Proms.
