Emily is a viola player from Lancashire. Having previously attended Junior RNCM and Chetham’s School of Music, she now studies at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance firstly with Nic Pendlebury and then Roger Chase. In 2013 she was awarded the Band/Kurtz Prize for Viola. Emily is now at the Royal Academy of Music doing her MA degree studying under Jim Sleigh. During her time at these institutions Emily has performed in some of the countries finest concert halls including Royal Festival Hall, Royal Albert Hall and Birmingham Symphony Hall. She has also had the pleasure of working with conductors such as Franz Kreuger, Robin Ticciatti and Marion Alsop. Emily is also a keen Chamber musician and has taken part in many master classes with renowned ensembles including the Wihan Quartet, Endellion Quartet and Chillingirian quartet. She has performed as part of the Rital Greenwich String Quartet and the Gower Festival. In 2014 she won the Sir John Barbirolli String Quartet Competition and got through the Tributy Laban round of the Cavatina Intercollegiate String Quartet Competition with her quartet. Emily also recorded the recent Classic Fm charity single 'Steadfast' which collaborated with Charlie Siem, Alfie Boe and Katherine Jenkins.
