Elsie Woollard

Elsie completed her Postgraduate Diploma at the Royal College of Music studying under David Theodore and Ruth Bolister in 2016 with Distinction. During her time at the RCM she played principal oboe in most of the RCM orchestras under conductors such as John Wilson, Nicholas Collon and Peter Stark. She also won the RCM Evelyn Rothwell Oboe prize in 2015 and was chosen to take part in the English National Opera Evolve scheme. She is a keen orchestral musician and since leaving the RCM has performed with the English National Opera and is a regular dep for The Phantom of the Opera at HMT in the West End. Elsie was invited to perform with the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House and the Orchestra of the English National Opera during her time at college and also appeared with many student/graduate orchestras such as Orchestra Vitae and Orion Orchestra she was also invited to play with the . Elsie is heavily involved in Education and Outreach work, gaining experience in running workshops with Teenage Cancer Trust, BBC Proms and RCM Sparks. She believes it is very important to reach out to those who wouldn’t normally have to opportunity to create music. She also teaches oboe privately around London, from beginners upwards of all ages.
