Elliott is currently studying for his Master’s degree at the Royal Academy of Music with Benjamin Hughes. A seasoned orchestra player, he regularly plays with the Chineke! Orchestra in international tours and festivals that have taken him on televised and radio broadcasted concerts in the BBC Proms, around Europe, and soon to the US and Canada. He also plays in a string quartet made up of Chineke! musicians and they have played live on BBC Radio 3 as well as being interviewed several times for other media outlets.
Alongside classical playing, he often plays with the Ignition orchestra in sold-out concerts in the Barbican, Hammersmith Apollo and Royal Albert Hall with artists such as Ms Dynamite and Mike Skinner, as well as playing on TV shows such as the Graham Norton show and The Rap Game. He has supplemented his studies by engaging in masterclasses and individual lessons from Miklos Perenyi, Guy Johnston and Leonard Elschenbroich, to name a few.
As an experienced orchestra player, Elliott has toured extensively throughout Europe with various orchestras including the Chineke! Orchestra, which has seen him in venues from Het Concertgebouw, Amsterdam to the Koln Philarmonie, Cologne, and around the UK in venues such as Birmingham Symphony Hall to Snape Maltings, including televised and radio broadcast concerts in the BBC Proms in 2017 and 2019.
Chamber music highlights include Chineke! quartet performances at Kensington Palace, Ryedale Festival, Brighton Festival, and BBC Radio 3 which involved live interviews.
He has supplemented his studies by engaging in individual lessons and masterclasses with Miklos Perenyi, Guy Johnston, Leonard Elschenbroich and Matthew Barley to name a few, as well as facilitating his passion for orchestral playing by taking orchestra excerpt classes with his teacher. Chamber coaching in college and on residential summer courses have included members of the Elias Quartet, Manchester Camerata, Trio Gaspard and Ensemble 360 amongst others. Very keen not to limit his interests to just the performing of music, Elliott has fed his liking for arranging and composing by studying this with David Horne.
Since starting the RNCM, Elliott has gained a keen interest in session playing, most notably with the Ignition Orchestra for Garage Classical, which headlined at the Liverpool International Music Festival with various artists broadcast on BBC Radio 1 Extra, and in sold out performances in the Barbican Centre and the Eventim Apollo with artists such as Ms. Dynamite and Mike Skinner. He has also played with the Sugababes and DJ Spoony on the Graham Norton Show.
