Studying BA music performance at the University of Chichester. Wide range of playing experience and styles, in a vast range of ensembles.

Hello! Welcome to my page! I am currently a student at the University of Chichester studying Music Performance. Predominantly a Bassoonist, with the ability to play Contrabassoon, having 7 years and 4 years respectively, I also have 13 years playing and experience in Trumpet and Cornet as well. During this time I have also gained valuable experience in various ensembles ranging from Symphony Orchestras, and Chamber Orchestras to Big Bands and Brass Bands with the latter entering and scoring highly in contests. I have also had the luxury to tour to Countries such as Germany, Spain, Czech Republic, France, and Slovenia, playing at Venues such as Brandenburg Cathedral and Czech Museum of Music. Back in the UK I've performed at concert halls such as Cadogan Hall, Symphony Hall Birmingham, and the Royal Albert Hall. I've also recorded at Abbey road on several occasions. In addition to all of this I have also played in the pit for various shows ranging from Kiss me Kate, High society, and Beauty and the Beast, to shows like Little Shop of Horrors, Into the Woods, and Thoroughly Modern Millie. As a person I am an extremely reliable and organised individual, who always aims to produce the best quality performance capable of myself. I have an friendly and easygoing personality, which means people are able to get along and work with me very well. Any advice or criticism given to me, as well as any tasks asked of me, are always followed up with enthusiasm. Thanks for checking out my page! If you have any enquiries please send a message and I will get back to you. Elliot

Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I always try my best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let me know and I should be able to adjust to this with ease.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

I don't offer this option due to being a solo instrumentalist. The style and type of jobs I do mean that this is not a request I receive.

How much time do you need to set up?

I intend to get to the venue at least 30 minutes prior to the time I am required to arrive by to set up, due to the easy set ups I have to do. If I am requested to arrive at a certain time that is also fine and I am more than able to accept your requests.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

I aim to make my performances suitable for you and your event. This means I am more than up for your requests, whilst also being up for choosing and being in discussion with you over music to be played. On some occasions extra fees may be added for purchase of music if needed.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, absolutely! I bring my own instrument to play. If its an instrument like the contrabassoon on the other hand I will contact you if you are able to acquire one, whilst looking around myself for borrowing one. This is due to the expensive price of the instrument I have not purchased my own yet.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

I aim to make my performances suitable for you and your event. This means I am more than up for your requests, whilst also being up for choosing and being in discussion with you over music to be played. On some occasions extra fees may be added for purchase of music if needed.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

The main featured venues I have performed at are scattered around Europe. These venues include Brandenburg Cathedral, The National Czech museum of music, and L'église de la Madeleine in Paris. In the UK I have performed in Venues such as Symphony Hall, Birmingham, Cadogan Hall and the Royal Albert Hall, in London, and the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford.

Reviews

From customers:

Catrin R, 1 year ago

Elliot has played for me in various bands and orchestras for more than 12 years. He is completely reliable and a very competent musician. He is always well prepared for performances, even when playing 2 different instruments from different books! He plays sensitively and completely accurately. He is always top of my list when I'm putting a band together.

Ron B, 1 year ago

Elliot played for our 50th wedding anniversary and was ever so professional. He was so flexible to our requests and made our special day that bit better.
