Ellie Parker is a British classical saxophonist. Ellie has performed extensively throughout Europe and the United States appearing at the NASA Biennial Conference in Lubbock, TMEA 2016, Scandinavian Saxophone Festival, World Youth Wind Ensemble Project in Schladming, Austria and the Frederick L. Hemke Saxophone Institute. As a chamber musician, Ellie peforms in Element Duo with Emma Jones who released their debut album, Music by Living Composers in 2015. As a soloist she performed the Glazunov Concerto in 2015 with the Claydon Chamber Orchestra. Ellie's original reseach on Ryo Noda's Improvisation I was published in the Winter 2013 edition of Clarinet and Saxophone Magazine. Ellie was a member of Joe Broughton's Conservatoire Folk Ensemble for five years and appears on the 2014 album The Offical Bootleg. As a soprano saxophonist, she completed five UK tours as well as appearing at Towersey Folk Festival and Fairport's Cropredy Convention. Ellie was a Teacher of Music at Akeley Wood School in Buckinghamshire for the 2014-15 academic year.
Ellie began serious saxophone studies in the junior department of Trinity College of Music in London before moving on to study with Naomi Sullivan at Birmingham Conservatoire, graduating with a first class degree in 2014. Ellie has also attended the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel where she studied with Norbert Nozy through the Eurasmus Exchange. Ellie is currently studying for a Masters in Music with Dr. Masahito Sugihara at Sam Houston State Univerity in Huntsville, Texas. At SHSU, Ellie serves as a graduate assistant to the Saxophone Department as well as the Fine Arts and Mass Communication Creative Community.
