Eleanor Janes

Eleanor Janes is a lyric soprano, performing a wide range of repertoire, with regular performances throughout the UK. Upcoming performances include Tatyana Eugene Oregon (Park Opera); Fenena Nabucco (Guildford Opera) and Donna Anna Don Giovanni (Rogue Opera). Recent operatic performances include Marguerite Faust (Brent Opera); Micaëla Carmen (Barefoot Opera); Vitellia La Clemenza di Tito (Henfenfeld Operanakademie); Euridice Orfeo ed Euridice (New Sussex Opera); Mařenka The Bartered Bride (Guildford Opera); Countess Almaviva Le Nozze di Figaro (Ensemble OrQuesta); Donna Elvira Don Giovanni (Cooper Hall); Mimì La Bohème (Cooper Hall); Manon Manon (Opera Coast); Hanna Glawari The Merry Widow (Kentish Opera); Elle, La Voix Humaine (The Forge). Eleanor has also performed in the chorus with many notable companies such as Grange Park Opera, Longborugh Festival Chorus, Classical opera, Opera Project, West Green House Opera and Winslow Hall Opera. This summer, Eleanor returned to West Green House Opera to sing the role of Cousin in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly. In demand on the concert platform, Eleanor has recently performed at the London Song Festival and asked to perform in the award winning ‘No Voice Unheard’ Song Project. Last year, Eleanor toured the UK with Wunderbar’s Opera Helps, appearing on several national Radio stations. Eleanor has performed with several leading orchestras in London, performing works such as Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Mozart’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah and Dixit Dominus. A keen recitalist, Eleanor has performed recitals at Holywell Music Room, Oxford; St. Mary’s, Battersea and St. Bride’s, Fleet Street and is a Oxford Lieder Festival Mastercourse alumnus. Eleanor has sung in masterclasses with Della Jones, Lauren Pillot, Wolfgang Holzmair, John Mark Ainsley, Ryland Davies, James Gilchirst, Matthew Rose, Ian Partridge. Eleanor was also selected to perform in a masterclass with Laurent Pillot as part of the European Opera Centre programme.
