Elaine Pelan Music

I am a Belfast-based singer, guitarist and pianist, providing live music for weddings, funerals and private events across Northern Ireland. I am passionate about using music to enhance life’s most meaningful moments, whether that means creating a sense of joy and celebration or offering comfort and reflection. My musical journey began with formal study at Queen’s University Belfast, where I completed my undergraduate degree in music, followed by a Master’s degree at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff. This training gave me a strong technical foundation, but just as importantly, it helped me develop the sensitivity and versatility needed to perform across a wide range of styles and settings. Alongside my studies, I have gained extensive real-world performance experience. I have been the cantor of my parish church for many years, regularly leading music for wedding Masses and funeral services. This role has given me a deep understanding of liturgical music, as well as the importance of professionalism, discretion and empathy when performing at significant life events. I am always happy to guide couples and families in choosing music that feels personal, appropriate and meaningful. My performance experience extends beyond church music. I was involved with Northern Ireland Opera for four years, which strengthened my musicianship, ensemble skills and confidence as a performer. I was also a member of the all-female jazz vocal trio The Swing Gals, performing regularly at big band nights, afternoon tea dances and special events. These experiences have shaped me into a flexible and engaging performer, equally at home in formal and relaxed settings. Currently, I enjoy performing acoustic guitar and vocal covers, as well as piano-led repertoire, tailored to suit wedding ceremonies, drinks receptions and upbeat private events such as family parties or hen-dos. My repertoire spans a variety of genres and I love to create mash-ups and fun medleys so that the setlist includes something for everyone. I pride myself on being approachable, organised and reliable, ensuring every performance runs smoothly and reflects the tone of your occasion.
