Edinburgh University Chamber Choir is the smallest of the three auditioned choirs of Edinburgh University. EUCC was originally formed in 1965 as the Edinburgh University Music Faculty Madrigal group. This year, we were honoured to perform a Sunday morning service as a part of BBC Radio 4’s Sunday Worship series to millions of listeners nationwide. Last year we performed the Scottish premier of Who Shall Separate Us by Sir James MacMillan. Who Shall Separate Us was written for the funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth II. The recording of this performance generated significant publicity, leading to Sir James MacMillan inviting us to perform at the annual Cumnock Tryst Festival. We also recently performed as part of a Ramond Gubbay production called The Music of Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones and Beyond at the Usher Hall to an audience of over two thousand. This year we also went on a choir tour to Tuscany. We are a student-run choir and are conducted by Michael Bawtree, who is amongst one of the most well-known conductors in Scotland. Our unwavering dedication to precision and consistent practice sets us apart. We believe that the devil is in the details, and our meticulous approach ensures that every note, every harmony, and every crescendo resonates with unparalleled brilliance. It is this commitment to perfection that enables us to continuously push boundaries and deliver musical experiences that linger in the hearts of our audiences long after the final note has been sung
