A new collaboration of conservatoire, university and sixth form students, ELSO performs in St John of Jerusalem Church, Hackney.

East London Symphony Orchestra is a new collaboration by young conductors Zoë Kundu and Jamie Conway to bring together young musicians from Conservatoires, Universities and 6th Forms across London, Cambridge and the surrounds to play exciting repertoire and work together on the music. The concerts take place at St John of Jerusalem Church, Hackney, a beautiful Anglican church set over Well Street Common in South Hackney.

Your technical skills shone through but there was something more. I've heard Tchaikovsky 5 played a few times ... but never before tonight with such elan, vigour and imagination. There was a freedom that comes from an energetic and open engagement with a great work - a freedom that is beguiling.
