Dury Duty is a six-piece band dedicated to the songs and performance of legendary band leader and raconteur Ian Dury. This combo of experienced musicians strives to recreate the sound and feel of a genuine Ian Dury concert drawing from material found within his solo output, his work with The Kilburns, The Blockheads as well as other side projects. Along with the expected big hitters such as 'Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll', 'Reasons To be Cheerful (Pt.3)', 'Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick', 'What A Waste' and others forming the backbone of any set, you will find lesser known but equally entertaining nuggets to whet the appetite of any long-time Ian Dury aficionado. The band aim to not only entertain those familiar with the extensive cannon of this great performer and wordsmith but to bring new fans to the man. Ian Dury is sorely missed and his sharp, witty, and often cutting observations on the mundane and absurd through his lyrics and poetic verse are carried forward by this talented band of brothers.

Dance little rude boy By the tribute band Dury Duty I saw them last night at Swindon. Played a load of songs that other tribute bands and even The Blockheads wouldn't play. Played all of NB&P!!, all the singles including Suepermans big sister, also in set list were Sulphate Strangler, Englands glory (which was smashing) and SpasticusAutisticus! Played for over 90 minutes without a pause. Well worth a listen to if you get a chance. The thing with Ian Dury and The Blockheads is that every song if different, each album could have many different genres on it, one minute it's a white reggae song, the next some funk or a right stonker. This is why some tribute bands have difficulty playing some of the stuff, However The Blox and Dury Duty seem to pull it off, they are not up themselves, they respect Ian and The Blocks words and music. Soon The Blockheads won't be around no more and tribute bands will be the only way we can here Ian's lemons. So go see The Blox and Dury Duty.

Wow! Need to see them if they playing near me, out of all the tribute bands I’ve seen heard these are at the top especially if there playing gems from the bands catalogue.
