Drop The Floor are a four piece vocal and instrumental group based in Clitheroe, Lancashire. Firmly routed in the traditional music and songs of Ireland but also taking from Scotland, Lancashire and America, the band features Steven Johnston on Uilleann Pipes, Martin Baptie on Fiddle, Richard Moss on Guitar and Vocals and Daniel Burke on Tenor Banjo. Following the release of their debut album “Raise the Roof” in early 2014 and a number of barnstorming appearances including The BIG Whistle Festival, Fylde Folk Festival, Wirral Folk Festival and Cloudspotting Festival, the band continue to build a reputation for their mighty live performances.

DTF played an unforgettable set at Seekout Arts & Music Festival 2023. These musicians are talented, seasoned performers. The energy & feel good atmosphere they create get everyone, young & and old, on their feet mesmerised by the skill of their musicianship. To top it off, they are all throughly charming off stage. Five stars from us.

I have booked 'Drop The Floor' to perform at numerous festivals and events over the years including Darwen Live, Beatherder Festival, Small Corner Of The World Festival and numerous shows in and around Lancashire. 'Drop The Floor' are a very versatile act who are just as comfortable performing at folk sessions, clubs and festivals as they are performing at world music events and more mainstream festivals. This is down to the overall energy in their music combined with exceptional musicianship - this energy crosses musical boundaries with ease and promotes a good time experience that would benefit almost any event!
