Dr ReelGood have played for countless ceilidhs and sessions across Scotland since our founding in 2017. Our tight line up focuses on high tempo fiddle music with unique bebop influenced harmony. Our stellar line up includes: Rob Taylor is a classically trained violinist and composer. He won second place in the 2014 Martyn Bennet prize for traditional music composition, and co-founded the acclaimed "Fiddlers on the Ramp" (featured on BBC Alba, Sky TV, Celtic Radio, and there five star reviewed sellout 2019 eponymously named fringe show.) Niki Dunne, is a drummer who has played for countless bands around Scotland, including the well known "Tinderbox Orchestra" (featured in Hidden Door, BBC radio 3, Kelburn, Doon the Rabbit Whole). She is also a percussion teacher, who works in youth-work and musical outreach. Sam Lowit, the caller, and leader of Dr Reel Good, ground his teeth playing guitar in jazz and folk sessions around the Aberdeen Scene as a Youngster. He has called for several ceilidh bands, and is an accomplished "tune" composer, having written dozens of reels and jigs, that regularly feature in our barn stomping ceilidhs.
