Hey, I'm Don, an acoustic enthusiast that's all about playing covers that strike a chord. I'm based between Aberdeen and Glasgow, and have been a gigging musician for several years. I've performed in all sorts of places, from bars to wedding venues, and I always aim to leave a mark with my music. I play a range of covers, from rock to pop to reworked classics. Regardless of the rendition, I put my all into every performance. I also bring all my own PA equipment. What do your clients love most about your performances?

Clients often appreciate the authentic and emotive nature of my performances. They value the personalized touch I bring to each event, creating a unique and memorable atmosphere. The diverse repertoire, skillful reinterpretation of songs, and attention to detail, including smooth technical aspects, contribute to their overall enjoyment.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I've had the pleasure of performing at a variety of venues, ranging from the intimate settings of weddings, where I create a warm ambiance, to lively bars, where I bring a more energetic acoustic performance.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

My musical influences span a diverse spectrum. In the realm of rock, artists like The Beatles have left a lasting impact on my approach. Blues greats such as Chuck Berry have inspired the soulful elements in my playing. When it comes to acoustic music, the storytelling style of musicians like Tracy Chapman has been a significant influence on my own style.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

I’ve performed on a cruise ship along with a full ensemble ‘Scottish Experience’ band. This included pipers, drummers, dancers and other musicians. I led the acoustic accompaniment on stage.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

These things happen, and I will always ensure the event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings they change, no problem. Let us know ahead of the event.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request, and I can use my PA system to play Spotify or equivalent between sets.

How much time do you need to set up?

Usually set up about 1 to 1.5 hours before the performance time.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes, of course.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, I bring my own instrument to play acoustically.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in the setlist there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you. There is a fee of £30 for this service to take into account rehearsal times etc
