Function band
Public liability insurance of £10 million
Verified profile

Discovered are one of the best suppliers of live wedding entertainment in the UK. They have performed at well over 500 weddings, parties and corporate events over the course of almost 20 years performing. This female-fronted 4-piece band has provided the best wedding entertainment all over the south of England. They were once credited in Heat magazine as the favourite covers band of James Corden and the group prides itself on being able to provide wedding entertainment that has something for everyone to enjoy, whether it is old school Soul, Motown, classic 70’s rock, 80’s cheese pop, 90’s bangers or today's chart hits. Discovered are constantly learning new material for first dances, modern hits or songs requested by clients simply because they are special to that client. Please view their songlist and feel free to contact them with suggestions. Discovered have previously worked with Vodafone, BMW, Rover, RAF, NHS & many more. Check out the reviews on our profile for the many kind words our clients have said about us over the years. All of their band members are qualified professional musicians who have studied at BIMM in London and who have a wealth of experience performing all around the UK, Europe and worldwide. The band has its own PA, stage and dance floor lighting and transport. All of the equipment is industry standard and is regularly PAT tested to comply with health and safety regulations. Discovered also have public liability insurance for up to a limit of £10m. Discovered have been around for almost 20 years and in that time they have played at over 500 bookings across the UK. Our wide selection of songs, professionalism and friendly attitude will assure you of a great night of music and entertainment to remember! Entertainment is a vital ingredient to all weddings, and hiring the right act can be a daunting task. A lot of couples wonder if booking a mobile DJ would be the best choice. The vast libraries of media available on modern technology, almost guarantee any song can be requested and played. The majority of our clients, however, choose to book Discovered. This is because you can’t beat the experience, energy & emotion of a live performance in comparison to a recording. A band supplies a greater dynamic to an event, and often a crowd feels the rhythm of the drums, the groove of the bass, the vibes of the guitar and the smoothness of the vocals much more than songs that can be played off a phone. Discovered are very creative with songs with such a small lineup, to ensure we can play so many songs, and learn any requests that clients would love to hear on the night. The band members sing and provide a greater depth with harmonies for all songs. Occasionally, our guitarist & bassist will sing lead on songs, providing a wide range of vocal abilities across the catalogue of songs we perform. Our musicians use a range of instruments & technology to perform songs. Lisa plays synth on songs (particularly those from the 90’s dance scene), our drummer uses electronic drums alongside his acoustic drum kit (providing songs from the 80’s) & our bassist creates a timbre of different instruments such as secondary guitars with his rig (great for the big rock songs!) We play anything such as oldies from the 50’s, to the most modern songs currently on the charts! We update our song list on a regular basis to ensure fresh tunes for everyone to dance to! Our usual performance time is 2 x 1-hour sets of music. We can arrange to play more music for your wedding, but can also provide background music between sets (meaning you won’t need to hire a DJ!). For further information on performance times, you may discuss this when booking Discovered. Our main requests are plenty of space to perform in, plenty of plug sockets to supply power and performances not to be hindered by sound limiters! Regardless, we can make all events work and can discuss the details when arranging a quote. Fancy some easygoing background music for your event? Want live music but need to keep the volume down? Ever thought a band could provide Acoustic Entertainment to add vibes to your day? Discovered now offer ‘The Unplugged Experience’, where the band can perform their entire song catalogue stripped down to acoustic guitars. The band also includes bonus songs that are easy listening for audiences. This is ideal for live music for your wedding breakfast, busy restaurant or venue that needs to respect the wishes of neighbours! Discovered can perform this setup completely unplugged, with a minimal PA setup, or full PA system for events. The latter can prove especially handy, as you can hire Discovered to provide live acoustic music experiences for evening receptions, usually provided at a discount rate. Many clients are happy to recommend our show to future newlyweds to ensure a great evening reception for all guests to enjoy! Check out the kind words of some of those happy couples on our profile! To get a quotation for your event, simply get in touch by clicking on the “Check availability” or “Message” buttons. We aim to provide a detailed quotation within 24 hours, along with our availability and the options we’re able to provide. Please provide us with as much information as possible & we look forward to hearing from you!

Discovered went down a storm and the dancefloor was pretty much full all night. The playlist was superb and they played an extra song at the end of the night which finished off the evening really well. I had so much good feedback today. Thank you so much for making our evening such a success.

Hi Laura & Simon - It really was our pleasure to be involved in your beautiful evening! I must apologise for keeping the secret of Simon getting up to drum on 'Sweet Child Of Mine' but hope you enjoyed the surprise anyway! It was great to work together in the build up and we wish you all the best for your future together.

What a brilliant band! From the start of the booking process to the end of the night they were so helpful and accommodating. They handled the unusual setting (a barn on a working farm) and last minute hiccups in the plan with complete professionalism. And the music…! It was fantastic - covering a whole range of genres so effectively. They filled the dance floor from the start of the evening to the three encores! My guests absolutely loved them and they helped make my party a great success. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Discovered played at our Ruby Wedding Party and all the Band were helpful, communicative and a great set of musicians. They took time and trouble to learn and perfect our special request which was no mean feat as it was a song from the mid-seventies and they performed it fabulously!! A memorable evening for all.

Discovered played at our wedding back in 2013. It was an amazing day and the icing on the cake was having great music and a full dance floor until late in the night! Everyone commented to us how amazing the band were and they played an fantastic mix songs. Could not recommend highly enough!

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Discovered have been around for over a decade, and in that time they have played at over 300 weddings across the UK. Our wide selection of songs, professionalism and friendly attitude will assure you of a great night of music and entertainment to remember!

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Discovered have previously worked with Vodafone, BMW, Rover, RAF, NHS & many more. Check out the reviews on our profile for the many kind words our clients have said about us over the years.

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

We strive to make sure that the line-up in our videos is what you get at your event. We do have pre-auditioned ‘dep’ musicians available should a band member fall ill or is unavailable. Our reputation as a professional band means everything to us, so you’ll be confident that all musicians that work with us are of the very highest standards.

Do you have different line-up options?

Our standard line consists of Vocals (Female/male), guitar, bass and drums. We also have a five-piece lineup featuring keys or an all Male trio. We can also provide an acoustic band, either stationary or roaming, as well as options for ceremonies, such as a solo guitarist.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help your event run as smoothly as possible. If the timings do change slightly, please let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Indeed we can, and we offer this popular service as standard across all our bookings, for free.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually ask for 2 hours to park, load in, set up our PA/lighting and finally sound check, which is important to ensure the best sound and volume for your event. Once we’re ready, we’re happy to provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for the live experience.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes, and if there’s anything you’d us to play that isn’t on the list, we’ll be more than happy to learn it for you!

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Our full-range PA and lighting system is included as part of our quote. For our setup, if it’s possible to have a playing space of 5 x 3 metres, then that would be great!

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes, we can! Please let us know in advance and we’ll prepare it for the big day.
