With a background that spans original releases, live sessions, theatre and pantomime, she brings both technical skill and emotional warmth to every performance. Recent memorable moments include performing a Monty Python song with Michael Palin. Other career highlights include delighting festival and street audiences across all kinds of different performance environments, and recording live sessions for BBC 6 Music with veteran broadcaster Tom Robinson. Diana has collaborated with accomplished musicians across London, Edinburgh, and the USA — demonstrating her ability to adapt to diverse musical contexts while delivering consistent quality. She founded Key To Music, Edinburgh’s school for guitar/vocals/songwriting, and has created multiple online courses in singing and songwriting. She continues to coach and teach in these areas. She has released five albums and EPs of original music and has contributed writing credits, vocal, guitar, Bodhran and cello parts to albums recorded by a variety of UK-based artists. She has toured and performed in the UK, Europe and the US with her own material as Candythief, and performing with other artists. She thoroughly enjoys hearing the EPs her former students release. Her original releases have been Record Of The Week choices on BBC 6 music, and one of her songs was the soundtrack to an award winning entry in a short film competition. She is active in London and surrounding area performing solo and in bigger function band line ups. She's performed in 15-piece swing orchestras, country bands, ceilidh bands, rock bands, blues bands, latin bands and folk bands. She's studied various fields of vocal technique and styles of guitar playing and currently also plays with The Loafers, the house band of the Idler Magazine. She is the creator of the Idler Academy's online singing course.
