Educated at King Edward VII School Sheffield and the Royal Northern College of Music, David Oldfield spent over thirty years teaching music in schools alongside more specifically music interests outside the classroom. Predominantly an organist, giving recitals (and accompanist), he is also a choir trainer (who specialises in training the young voice) and choral conductor who has for over forty years combined these as a professional church musician. This has been both at parochial level and working with the RSCM. Having retired from school work I am expanding my recital work, my choir work and also examining. My specialities are Baroque and early music, Tudor and Renaissance Church Music and mainstream Cathedral repertoire (including S S Wesley, Stanford and Parry).
