David Hethorn

I'm David Hethorn, a Queensland-based solo acoustic singer and guitarist. I play a mix of well-known songs from across the decades, with a set that can move from relaxed background music through to more lively as the night unfolds. I've been playing music for most of my life, originally learning ukulele in 1973 and gradually building up a broad repertoire of songs on guitar that people know and connect with. I perform regularly around South East Queensland and Northern NSW, playing pubs, clubs, restaurants, private functions, weddings and corporate events. My repertoire covers classic rock, pop, country, folk and plenty of songs that people know well enough to sing along with. I also play ukulele for a change of pace, and I'm happy to tailor a set around the type of event and audience. My approach is pretty simple: read the room, play the right songs and make sure the music adds to the occasion rather than taking it over. Whether it's a couple of hours of acoustic music at a wedding, background music over dinner, or a lively pub crowd on a Saturday night, I aim to make the music fit the mood of the crowd.
