David Banbury, Bass: Born in Leicester to a Welsh family, educated at University College London and Oriel College, Oxford. He has sung leading roles in Elektra, Salome, Daphne, Der Rosenkavalier, Ariadne auf Naxos, Billy Budd, On The Town, Sweeney Todd, Sir John in Love, The Bear, Guy's & Dolls, The Rose of Persia, Iolanthe, Princess Ida, Ruddigore, The Fairy Queen, La Damnation de Faust, Les Troyens, à Carthage, Les Dialogues des Carmélites, L'Enfant et les sortilèges, Oedipus Rex, The Cunning Little Vixen and Boris Godunov for Pigotts Music Camp. Roles elsewhere include: Arkel and Sagristano (St. John’s, Smith Square), Pistol (Falstaff), Betto (Gianni Schicchi), Bonze (Le Rossignol, Stravinsky), Sarastro (Including a tour to the Kijani Festival, Kenya), Leporello, Commendatore, Mefistofele, Kaspar, Lindorf and Crespel. In 2007 he sang for the Dartington International Summer School Advanced Opera Course in Il Barbiere di Siviglia. 2015 engagements included Colline, Balthazaar (Amahl & the night visitors), Zuniga, Sarastro, Publio, Pharaoh with Aliquando in Joseph, a recital of Mussorgsky's Songs and dances of death and Bass soloist in Handel's Solomon (Aliquando). Forthcoming engements include Grand Inquisitor (Opera Foundry) and Balthazar (St James, Picadilly, 2016). David studies singing with Jeremy Huw Williams.
