David Antón

Spanish bass trombonist David Antón has been studying this specific trombone specialty since May 2018. Since then, not only has he been admitted to the Royal College of Music in London, but he has also been the winner of the Young Performers of the Basque Country competition in the speciality of brass, both in the category of children under 15 with tenor trombone and in the category of children under 18 with bass trombone. This achievement made him the best young brass player of the Basque Country. In addition, David received the Michael Quinn award for his performance on the RCM entrance exam. Furthermore, this year he earned a professional degree in music with the highest grade point average of his promotion, with the highest grades in trombone, piano repertoire and orchestral practice. In May 2019 he premiered as a soloist in the conservatory's closing concert accompanied by a symphonic orchestra. During the last year he has attended classes with prestigious world-class trombonists such as Tomer Maschkowski, Zachary Bond, Paul Milner and James Buckle, demonstrating his high interpretative capacity and technical quality. To conclude, it must be said that he has been and continues to be the first soloist of trombone and bass trombone with the national orchestra and choir of the WYD; they have performed in the best national and international auditoriums, these being the auditorium of the Congress Palace of Budapest and the National Auditorium of Music of Madrid. Since September 2019, he studies at the Royal College of Music in London and has participated in the RCM Philharmonic Orchestra and RCM Symphony Orchestra.
