I can turn my hand to most musical tastes and have a vast collection of many genres. I have played at Cheltenham & Stroud Jazz Festivals and DJ'ed at events in Amsterdam, Paris, Croatia & Palma. I have recently been resident DJ at the exclusive No.131 Hotel in Cheltenham playing 5 hour sets of R&B, Hip Hop and Dance. I am often booked for weddings and like to speak with potential clients about their event requirements to make it special for them. I have a good eye for the dance floor and making it tick and am totally in my element when I'm on the Decks and love to get the crowd going making sure I read the room to give people the best musical experience. I have had regular radio shows on community stations and currently have a weekly Internet radio show on Soulpower Radio on Monday nights. My personal tastes and radio selection is Jazz, Afrobeat, Soulful House and World Music. But am at home playing Jess Glynne or ABBA to get the crowd dancing. We loved having David, a lovely guy and he plays some great songs to suit whatever your taste is!

Dave was great. I gave him the date, the address and timings. He was there without any bother, in great time setting up his equipment before we even realised. He did everything we wanted and discussed prior to the day. Great music choice as the older guests felt like they could get involved as well as the younger guests. Would definitely recommend.

Dave Elmer’s set at the Almost Boxes event was that of a seasoned, gifted crowd pleaser who clearly has more than mastered his trade. This was a man who knew how to play the right songs at the right time taking his crowd on a musical journey and building excitement in the process. Dave is the perfect frontman & is that rare commodity these days, a musicologist who has the extra weapon of being a remarkable MC. His microphone interjections were used expertly to excite the dancefloor, often laced with his razor sharp wit. This set was delivered with the aplomb of a DJ who I believe has mastered both the international & festival circuit & who quite frankly, on this occasion, put most of the other DJs on the bill in the shade. Bravo Dave, the perfect set.

Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I’m very flexible and as long as you can give me decent notice period of changes I can adapt.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes of course. Again we can talk through your requirements for the event. At the end of the day it’s about you feeling happy with what I have provided.

How much time do you need to set up?

I would probably allow an hour as long as there aren’t flights of stairs or access difficulties. Once the system is in it won’t take long. If you’d prefer it set up prior to the event starting we can discuss that too.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Happy to take a selection of musical choices from you. Let’s talk about what you require on our 1st meeting and what I can offer.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes I have all the equipment I hope you need. Anything specific we can discuss.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Won’t affect me as a DJ but should be able to access all the music you need.
