I can turn my hand to most musical tastes and have a vast collection of many genres. I have played at Cheltenham & Stroud Jazz Festivals and DJ'ed at events in Amsterdam, Paris, Croatia & Palma. I have recently been resident DJ at the exclusive No.131 Hotel in Cheltenham playing 5 hour sets of R&B, Hip Hop and Dance. I am often booked for weddings and like to speak with potential clients about their event requirements to make it special for them. I have a good eye for the dance floor and making it tick and am totally in my element when I'm on the Decks and love to get the crowd going making sure I read the room to give people the best musical experience. I have had regular radio shows on community stations and currently have a weekly Internet radio show on Soulpower Radio on Monday nights. My personal tastes and radio selection is Jazz, Afrobeat, Soulful House and World Music. But am at home playing Jess Glynne or ABBA to get the crowd dancing. Dave absolutely killed it at our wedding! Was super organised getting to know the venue, us, and was a real professional, super experienced and safe pair of hands, and made the night very fun and unforgettable. Played all the tunes we requested, read the room really well, interacted with everyone, and it was just the best night. Massive thanks Dave. Can’t recommend more!

Dave was amazing, he created the perfect atmosphere for our wedding and kept everybody dancing all night long! He spent some time beforehand getting to know us and asking us for some special requests songs. We loved every minute of his set and we appreciate him taking the job with only a few weeks notice - thank you so much Dave!

Dave Elmer’s set at the Almost Boxes event was that of a seasoned, gifted crowd pleaser who clearly has more than mastered his trade. This was a man who knew how to play the right songs at the right time taking his crowd on a musical journey and building excitement in the process. Dave is the perfect frontman & is that rare commodity these days, a musicologist who has the extra weapon of being a remarkable MC. His microphone interjections were used expertly to excite the dancefloor, often laced with his razor sharp wit. This set was delivered with the aplomb of a DJ who I believe has mastered both the international & festival circuit & who quite frankly, on this occasion, put most of the other DJs on the bill in the shade. Bravo Dave, the perfect set.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

I believe that it is because I am meticulous in terms of getting everything right on the day musically. Whatever the event I feel that I have to be at my best to ensure that everyone has a great time. It makes me feel good when people come and say thank you and it has led to quite a few repeat bookings. I love to ensure that the crowd are dancing.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Numerous wedding venues across the region. More high profile are Cardiff Castle, 131 Hotel Cheltenham, Andaz Hotel Amsterdam, Le Mellotron Paris.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

My wide range of musical tastes influence me all the time.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Southport Dance Weekender to 3000 people and getting the whole room dancing in time together. A great buzz!

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I’m very flexible and as long as you can give me decent notice period of changes I can adapt.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes of course. Again we can talk through your requirements for the event. At the end of the day it’s about you feeling happy with what I have provided.

How much time do you need to set up?

I would probably allow an hour as long as there aren’t flights of stairs or access difficulties. Once the system is in it won’t take long. If you’d prefer it set up prior to the event starting we can discuss that too.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Happy to take a selection of musical choices from you. Let’s talk about what you require on our 1st meeting and what I can offer.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes I have all the equipment I hope you need. Anything specific we can discuss.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Won’t affect me as a DJ but should be able to access all the music you need.
