Daniel is a multi-instrumentalist specialising in SATB saxophone, clarinets and flute, performing predominantly within musical ensembles covering a broad range of musical genres. His eclectic taste in music has lead to a diverse performing portfolio ranging from rock and popular music to jazz, folk and contemporary music.
Composing and arranging music is also a key interest in Daniel’s music career. Daniel specialises in writing for solo instruments and chamber groups in a contemporary classical style, but has composed music in a number of genres including dixieland, romantic and folk. Daniel first started arranging music when he was asked to lead the orchestra at his sixth form college when he had to arrange music for the instruments available to him. Since then, he has gone on to arrange for choirs, function bands and chamber ensembles such as saxophone quartet.
Whilst studying BA(Hons) Music, Daniel has continued to develop his technique in all aspects of his musical career and has performed with a professional Swing Band, performing with them across the UK. He has also played with pit orchestras in shows such as Little Shop of Horrors and The Witches of Eastwick, whilst also leading and coaching ensembles for performance, some of which to collaborate with other disciplines across the arts such as Dance and Fine Art.
Daniel is intending to further his study of music at the Leeds College of Music on the MMus Creative Musician course where he will develop his musicianship further to benefit his portfolio career.
