Dan Chuang

Dan Ching Chun Chuang is currently studying in a Guildhall School of Music and Drama as a 2nd year postgraduate student. Born in 1992 in Taiwan, Dan developed interest and talent in violin playing at the age of 9. He made his concert debut a year later, playing Mozart Violin Concerto No.3 accompanied by Yangming Junior School String Orchestra, and later furthered his music studies at the prestigious National Tainan Senior High School Music Department. During his year in Taiwan, he won the National Junior High School Music Solo Violin Competition, and was placed 2nd in the National Chamber Music Society Competition. In 2010, he was awarded a full scholarship to study at Birmingham Conservatoire with French violinist Nathaniel Vallois. He is a member if Xuen String Quartet, and has performed with it in many concert venues. He and his piano quartet were also finalists of the 2012 Birmingham Conservatoire Chamber Music Prize. In 2014 he won the second prize of Birmingham Philharmonic Orchestra Concerto Prize also joined GSMD in the same year.
