Customer questions
What do your clients love most about your performances?
People tell me they love the honesty of my performances most. I don’t try to impress with speed or complexity for its own sake — I focus on making the music feel alive, present, and emotionally clear. There’s always a sense of conversation in what I play: between classical structure and jazz freedom, between control and risk, between me and the audience.
Which venues have you performed at in the past?
I’ve performed in a range of settings: jazz clubs, small concert halls, private salons, cultural venues, and festival stages. I’m comfortable adapting my music to intimate listening spaces as well as more formal concert environments.
Which artists have you been most influenced by?
I’ve been deeply influenced by Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett, and Erroll Garner, as well as Beethoven and Chopin. Guitarists like Pat Metheny and John Scofield also shaped my piano sound, especially in phrasing, harmony, and melodic freedom.
What is the most high profile gig you've performed?
one of my most high-profile recent performances was at a New York cultural showcase dedicated to contemporary cross-genre artists, where I presented original piano music blending classical structure with jazz improvisation to a large, engaged audience.
What if my timings change after I've booked you?
I understand that timings can sometimes change. Please let me know as soon as possible if this happens, and I’ll do my best to accommodate the new schedule, subject to availability and any agreed terms.
Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?
Unfortunately I’m unable to provide an iPod/DJ service before or between sets, as I’m a pianist and focus solely on live piano performance. However, I’m very happy to coordinate timing with any DJ or background music you arrange to ensure everything flows smoothly.
How much time do you need to set up?
usually need around 10 minutes to set up, depending on access and the piano provided.
If I have a piano at my venue, are you happy to perform on that?
Yes, of course - as long as the piano is in working order and in tune, then I'm happy to play on it!
Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?
Absolutely. You’re very welcome to choose the songs you’d like from my set list, and I’m happy to tailor the selection to suit your event.
Are you able to bring your own piano or keyboard?
Yes, I can bring my own keyboard. We would just need to discuss this in advance, as costs and travel distance may apply.
Can you learn song requests before the event?
Yes, I’m happy to learn song requests in advance of the event, as long as they’re agreed beforehand and fit the style of the performance. There is a fee of £30 for this service to take into account including rehearsal times.
