I am a highly skilled and competent reading musician and large band leader. I have over 200 professional musicians and vocalists on my books and hold over 5000 musical arrangements which are expertly written to precision as the originals, varying in genres spanning 8 decades of music. I frequently tour with the UK's number 1 show Lost In Music covering Earth, Wind and Fire, Donna Summer, Chic etc. For the past 20 years I have held the lead trombone chair with the Glenn Miller Orchestra UK and The Joe Loss Orchestra. I have been a professional lead Trombone player for over 30 years. In this time I have worked all over the world and have played with The Drifters, Buddy Greco, Mickley Dolenz from The Monkees among others. In the late 90s I toured with Fame the Musical which covered a stint in the West End. I also play with a well known Blues Brothers tribute show and have worked with many Elvis tributes including Liberty Mounten and Rob Kingsley. My sight reading is excellent and I will have no problems with most requests. If I am unfamiliar at all I will learn what's required. I also manage my 8-17 piece Funk'N'Soul Function Band. Typically providing full entertainment packages to high end clients who have a keen ear and high expectations. Myself and my wife Samantha provide our clients with an excellent and reliable service as if they are the only one. It's imperative to me and my team that our clients are 100% happy. Retaining an impeccable reputation and repeat bookings since 2008. My corporate, weddings, concerts, events and functions band are outstanding and highly energetic! Dale was a lovely guy. It was an unusual gig as I asked him to play a solo at my husband’s funeral. My husband was a trombone player. Dale even played on my husband’s favourite trombone at short notice.

Where to even start?! WOW! We're honestly all still buzzing! What a night we all had on Saturday! Honestly, it was so, so special for us and you guys were the biggest part of that. I knew you were going to be amazing but you were amazing AND THEN SOME! It's so lovely to hear that you were all loving life too - that means a lot! I just can't thank you enough personally for all of your help and advice in the lead up to the party - you've been so helpful, accommodating and reassuring the whole time and just been so nice to be in touch with! It's been such a pleasure! And again on the day you were a complete star and took so much work away from us as we literally didn't have to worry about you guys - you had it all in hand, even the clearing up - naughty! Haha! Please pass on our sincere thanks to Dale and the whole band who are all so super talented, and so super fun! They absolutely made our night! I had high expectations and they smashed them! I have to give a shout out to our singers (Dee and Mel was it?!), I mean how incredible were they?! So much charisma and sass- I think I'm actually obsessed with them haha! Not forgetting the Swing Singer and Quartet you also provided. Amazing! Thanks for making it such a special night for us and our guests - you knocked all of our socks off! What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Absolutely no problem at all. Provided adequate notice is given your contract will be updated and a copy sent to you. Professional musicians know that speeches and announcements often run over. This is easily accommodated and remedied. It is important to us that your event runs as smoothly as possible. We aim to be flexible.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes. Funk'N'Soul Function Band are complemented by a lighting and sound engineer team at their events, unless this is supplied by the venue/client. Having the option of a live mixing DJ service throughout the engagement is an option provided to all bookings.

How much time do you need to set up?

Funk'N'Soul, Pride themselves on a professional set up with lighting/sound engineers to ensure you/your guests have the most luxurious entertainment experience. Providing a perfect sound and safe set up at your venue Is our business. Ensuring your occasion runs smoothly. Eliminating/minimising any technical hiccups. Please allow 2-3 hours from unloading.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Yes. Our set lists have been perfected from years of experience in the music business. We always suggest the option of the first dance performed live. You can't beat it. Plus a handful of your all time favourite tunes is a must!

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes. We do all the hard work so you don't have to. It is important to us that once your planning/arrangements are in place that you relax and enjoy your special occasion with your guests and make some amazing memories to treasure forever.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Yes. Our professional musicians and vocalists are some of the UK's finest reading musicians. In the unlikely event that a song is not available in our repertoire. We will endeavour to find what you are looking for. No charge for rehearsals unless unusual circumstances apply. Possible charge may apply for band expenses. (Example, purchasing unusual music).
