Professional musician and performer, Corinne Marsh studied at the Royal Academy of Music, London with Piers Lane, Philip Jenkins and Christopher Elton, and the oboe with Sue Bohling and Nigel Shore. She has performed regularly in solo recitals, concertos and chamber music ensembles. As a saxophonist, Corinne currently entertains guests regularly at the Crossing Pub in Staffordshire where she plays a wide range of music in a variety of styles. She is accompanied by professionally performed and recorded backing tracks. Corinne uses a Bose L1 sound system for large halls and a smaller Bose speaker for smaller venues. As a pianist, Corinne, explored the world of Vintage and Victorian Parlour music written for the piano in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries. She presented this music to her audiences in her concert programmes. In particular, she explored music written by composers such as Charles Kinkel, Adolphe Baumbach, William Bibby, Charles Auchester and Carl Bohm. A CD recording of this music is now available on the disc "Silver Moonbeams" which is also available on your favourite music source online. Corinne is also in demand on cruise ships where she performs recitals as a multi-instrumentalist performing recitals on the piano, oboe, cor anglais and soprano and tenor saxophones in a variety of styles including popular classical favourites, music from films and shows, and jazz standards. In particular, Corinne specialised in performing music from the early 20th Century, highlighting the music by composers such as Albert Ketelbey, Eric Coates, Billy Mayerl and Winifred Atwell. Corinne travels widely presenting entertaining programmes featuring the above instruments and using the fabulous Bose L1 sound system, with bass module, to provide a stunning accompaniment of tracks recorded by professional instrumentalists. She is also an experienced accompanist who works with both instrumentalists and singers worldwide. Corinne is available for concerts, festivals, accompanying, weddings, corporate events and adjudication.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

The variety of styles that I include in my repertoire and the variety of instruments that I play. My audiences particularly love the cor anglais with it's beautifully expressive, mellow and lyrical character.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I've played in music festivals in churches and concert halls around the UK as well as the USA and Zimbabwe. As an orchestral musician I've played in the Royal Albert Hall, The Royal Festival Hall, the Free Trade Hall and The Bridgewater Hall. I've also given afternoon recitals on cruise ships.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Vladimir Horowitz, Marta Argerich, Duke Ellington, Winifred Atwell, Boots Randolph, Charlie Kunz, Ella Fitzgerald, Albrecht Mayer - to name a very few!

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I am always willing to be flexible so please let me know if your plans change.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Definitely! I can prepare a playlist of atmospheric music suitable for the occasion which will fill any gaps between sets. All my backing tracks are saved onto an iPod and I use BackTrax to access them. I create a separate playlist for each event. This may incur an additional fee depending on the timing of the event.

How much time do you need to set up?

Usually around 45 to 60 minutes before the performance starts but this depends on access to the car park and the size of the venue.

If I have a piano at my venue, are you happy to perform on that?

Yes, of course! - as long as the instrument is in good working order and tuned for the event.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

My set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests have an amazing time. However, I'm definitely happy to discuss any special requests.

Are you able to bring your own piano or keyboard?

Unfortunately my keyboard is too large to transport by car.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes, of course! As long as the score and backing track, if required, is available then I would be very happy to prepare this for you. There is an additional fee of £30 for this service.
