Colin Smith

I am a professional pianist who has had lots of experience of playing for parties, corporate events, civil ceremonies and wedding receptions. I have a versatile repertoire ranging from Jazz to well know pop and rock standards along with a few classical pieces. I am also very happy to play or learn your favourite song or piece of music for your special wedding day, party or event. I began playing the piano when I was 4 years old and attended the London College of Music when I was a teenager. I became a professional musician at 16 making an appearance on national televison with Aled Jones. I have also played for various big bands, rock bands and Jazz duos. My recorded sessions include three albums with a rock band called " Circus" and the theme music for "The Big Breakfast" . I have also composed music for the storyboard of the TV series "Shaun the Sheep". More recently I composed music for a live theatre show called "The Provok'd Wife" I currently play for an improvised comedy show called "Instant Wit “ and a nine piece pop soul band called "The Regz" . I also accompany a jazz singer called "Fiona Battersby". As a solo pianist I enjoy playing background music as well as being able to entertain people for your event , party or wedding. I have played hundreds of weddings at hotels , churches, marquees and civil ceremony wedding venues. I aim to make the communication process as smooth as possible to ensure that you have the most appropriate piano music for your event or special day.
