American-British-Canadian violinist Claire Edwards is an internationally platformed and touring performing artist, prize winner and award holder, and has participated in acclaimed music festivals and masterclasses throughout the US and Europe. Claire completed her postgraduate studies just this year at the Royal College of Music in London, as an International Huawei Scholar supported by the George Stennett Award. She is a recent laureate member of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester for their concert season in Vienna, the Salzburger Festspiele, and Bolzano Festival Bozen in Italy, and is concertising both in London and touring internationally, in New York, Paris, Venice, Lake Como, Rome, Côte d’Azur, and Barbados. Recent performances include the Paris Olympics, London Fashion Week 2024, and with Andrea Bocelli and Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, alongside the Princess Royal in London. Claire’s mentors and professors include Boris Kuschnir, Pavel Vernikov, Lewis Kaplan, Lutsia Ibragimova, and Alina Ibragimova. She is a winner of the Pittsburgh Concert Society Young Artist Competition, the Blackwood Music Scholarship, and the Enola M. Lewis Scholarship Award, and has played in solo and chamber masterclasses at the Royal College of Music, The Juilliard School, Wiener Meisterkurse, and Kronberg Academy. She has been an RCM ambassador for the BBC Symphony Orchestra Pathways Scheme, as well as a member of the Kronberg Academy Festival. Claire has the pleasure of concertising and touring frequently as both a solo, orchestral, and chamber player, working and touring on a regular basis with such renowned musicians and conductors as Maxim Vengerov, Bernard Haitink, Vasily Petrenko, Nicola Benedetti, Rafael Payare, John Wilson, and Antonio Pappano, amongst others. She has performed in concerts recently live streamed on the BBC with the Bath Festival Orchestra at the Bath Festival, the BFO London debut concert at Kings Place, as well as frequently at Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank Centre, and Abbey Road Studios in London. Previous notable events have included performing at the British Embassy in Washington D.C with Jaguar Land Rover, concert tours with Universität der Künst Berlin throughout Germany and the Netherlands. Claire is passionately committed to artistic outreach and development, and is an outreach development leader for the Nicola Benedetti Foundation, in support of the Benedetti Sessions. She teaches violin privately between London and New York, and gives studio sessions at The Juilliard School in New York City. She regularly hosts international D’Addario Showcase tours, as well as giving public and recitals as a D’Addario Official Artist & International Violin Ambassador throughout Italy, France, Germany, Austria, and New York. Claire is a D’Addario official artist and plays on a Giuseppe Baldantoni violin made in Ancona, Italy, in 1836. How much time do you need to set up?

Usually I need only around 10/15 minutes to set up depending on the venue and outfits required. If performing in an outdoor venue I will need slightly more time to take into consideration climate, light, and acoustic etc.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

I can meet any requests you might have for repertoire smoothly and tailor the set list to your event. My package price for an engagement over 1 hour always includes a starting option of up to three songs of your choosing, but of course we can arrange more if you so wish!

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, absolutely! I bring my own instrument, music, music stand (if applicable), and any set up required for the event.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

If a song isn't included in my song list or if there is a special song outside of the 3 requests per hour you'd like me to learn I'm more than happy to do this for you. There is a fee of £30 for this service to take into account rehearsal times etc.
