Hailing from Worcestershire and the Netherlands, Marije De Vries and Jeremy Johnson are both experienced, exciting and talented solo performers who play together as a captivating duo. This duo have played on Dutch television (Omrop Fryslan), supported touring international artists (Australian Little Quirks and Norwegian Falkeid Fassotte in 2023) and provided music services for high-end clients across the UK and Europe. The duo bring diverse, international experience to their performances and a connective ease with all manner of audiences through their set list of classic and modern jazz, easy-listening, pop, soul, folk and Americana. With harmonies to die for, these talented musicians know how to deliver a masterful set for all occasions, stopping only to deliver jaw dropping, off the cuff requests and the odd high quality pun. What a great duet We hired Jeremy and Marije to perform at my brother’s wake. It was really important that we had some music playing as my brother was a lover of music. Jeremy and Marije were brilliant and got the mood of the group celebrating Paul’s life - they performed some lovely music and performed a number of sets for us. I would not hesitate to hire them again.

Jeremy and Marije were an absolute dream! Their live performance and also their DJ set in the evening perfectly hit the right vibes for our wedding day - from chilled garden party in the afternoon to a more upbeat party ambience in the evening. So many of our guests commented on how fabulous the music was. And such a lovely duo too! Wouldn't hesitate to hire Footnotes again.

We have a natural rapport with our audiences and consider it an integral part of the job. Not all musicians interact, but without that connection, you miss a huge part of the wonder of live music.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. Before, during and after the set we can run a playlist through our PA at no additional cost.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually arrive at least 1 hour before my start time to set up, but this varies depending on the complexity of the set-up and the clients objectives. As soon as our PA is set up I can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for our live performance.

Can you roam around while you perform?

Yes! We can perform acoustically if you'd like the strolling option to play around your event site

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Yes, absolutely! All my equipment is provided and set-up by us on the day

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you.
