Christopher Schlechte-Bond

I am a composer, conductor, orchestrator and arranger based in London. Stylistically eclectic, I have interests in contemporary classical, electroacoustic, minimalist, soundtrack and experimental idioms and my music has been performed in the UK, in wider Europe and the USA. Music became my calling in life at a young age, when I began playing a battered old keyboard bought for £5 from a local car boot sale. Recent and upcoming collaborations include those with the Ensemble Novus orchestra, the British Sinfonietta, Fretwork, the Lontano Ensemble, Helios Opera Company, the Azalea Ensemble, the Royal College of Music Symphony Orchestra and Constanza Chorus. I was also selected as part of the 2016 Sound and Music 'Adopt A Composer' Programme. I have also had original scores screened at many international film festivals, including the Cannes Short Film Corner, the New York City International Film Festival and the London Independent Film Festival. I am a graduate (Master of Composition) of the Royal College of Music as a Prince William Scholar studying under Simon Holt, Vasco Hexel, Joseph Horovitz and Gilbert Nouno. At the RCM I recieved a BAFTA/Warner Bros for studies in film music and I have had mentorships with composers David Horne, John Lunn, and Gary Yershon. I am also a music graduate (1st Class Honours) of King's College London, studying composition with Rob Keeley, Ed Nesbitt and Joseph Phibbs. I have experience conducting and leading the King's College Chorus, Imperial War Museum Choir and many choirs and orchestras at the Royal College of Music. I am co-founder of the contemporary music ensemble, ECHOSHED. I'll always be writing, so feel free to say hello.
