He was born in 1984 in Sweden to Finnish/American parents, but has grown up in the United Kingdom since the age of 7. He began learning the cello at 11, first with a private teacher and then later at the Royal College of Music Junior Department, London. After going to the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and finishing his degree, he moved to Bristol where he worked as a musician in St Christopher's School for children with special needs as well as establishing the Greenbank Trio. The project lasted for one year before ceasing existence at the end of 2012. In 2013, Christopher moved back to Bristol, reestablishing himself as a freelance cellist. This has included frequent concerts as an extra cellist with the Bristol Ensemble and as principal cellist in the London Graduate Orchestra in London. He also has taken part in three tours with the World Orchestra in Spain, Holland and Lebanon.
