Pianist
London

Christian Ray Leovido is a pianist and composer specialised in Improvisation in diverse music genres, from Classical to Pop/Rock music. He started playing the piano at an early age at St. John’s Cathedral and St. George’s Chapel both in Madrid, St. Matthew’s in Paris and Cathedral of the King in Manila (Philippines), playing by ear and “jazzing” up hymns and choruses. He is experienced in playing and arranging music mixing different musical styles for large ensembles, including choir with small chamber ensembles. His harmonic interest and exploration in sound colours was inspired by a wide range of genres, including religious music from Bach to Rutter, and gospel standards with Soul, R&B and Latin influences. With the support and encouragement of his community of people, he was able to pursue a musical career at the “Professional Conservatoire of Music Amaniel” in Madrid, where he earned First Class Distinctions in Piano Performance, Modern Music, Harmony, Theory and Arranging, and Piano Accompaniment. He expanded his musical knowledge at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music in London, being awarded the First Prize in the Gladys Puttick Improvisation Competition. Currently, he is expanding his knowledge learning about the harmony and voicing of Scriabin’s pieces. He has written and arranged popular music combined with classical music, collaborating with artists who play Japanese music, progressive rock music, and New Age Piano Music. The crossover idea was inspired by artists like Yiruma, Einaudi, Nobuo Uematsu and bands like Coldplay, Muse, Radiohead, Dream Theatre, etc. Alongside his music career, he has taken a course in Computer Science at the Complutense University in Madrid. Among his numerous projects, technology is present at all times and he is eager to bring technology to schools and universities to improve music learning.
