London

Raised in Hastings on the south coast of England Chris started playing guitar at 14 and soon fell in love with the blues. A couple of years later he moved in with his guitar teacher and his guitar teachers mentor and spent many hours literally playing till his fingers bled. A year later Chris moved to London and straight away got involved with the blues scene joining a band from Camden called Trouble in Mind. This was the first of many blues and r&b bands that Chris played in before forming his own in 1991 called Special Blue. A year later Chris joined jazz funk outfit TriBeCa playing mainly tower of power and herbie Hancock covers, playing Ronnie Scott's, jazz cafe and generally ripping it up on the acid jazz scene and actually playing live with members of living colour at the worlds end in 1993. Chris later joined Louise Elliot's band the jazz hearts who included, Annie whitehead, Mervin Africa, Mark bassey claud deppa Richard edulali and embarked on 10 years of jazz services funded tours and shows all over the uk including playing the world stage at Glastonbury and even supporting the yellow jackets and recording a live album at Ronnie Scott's Following that Chris played with various bands from espree, londons favourite party band! To V/ro, urban Columbian hip hop , recording and radio sessions, playing live with chart toppers Mint Royale! European tours working with a variety of different artists and performers promoting gigs and living in London. Chris’s love of vintage guitars and classic valve amps has always complemented his natural tone and feel, along with his ability to play many styles with enthusiasm and taste.

Wedding in East Lulworth, Wareham BH20 5QQ, UK I wanted a smokey jazz club feel for my Peaky Blinders wedding and Ruby and the Dukes certainly delivered! Ruby’s vocals were epic and the musicians were on point. The dance floor was packed all evening with my guests asking for more more more at the end. I couldn’t have asked for a better band, I totally recommend them! And Macs communication with us from first booking to the wedding day was consistent and he reassured me throughout the process. One very happy Bride and Groom and guests as a result, perfect!
