Chris Ford

With an early grounding working in holiday centres ,Chris developed a working knowledge of accompanying singers and Big band jazz styles alongside a brief dalliance with walk-on work TV shows such as the BBC’s Bergerac. Chris has become a chameleon, happy to work in varying syles. Pop acts include: Lee Latchford-Evens (Steps) Mark Read (A1) Rochelle Humes, Jon Lee (S Club 7) most of the Nolans and the one and only Chesney Hawkes! The thread through most of the period has been what used to be called light entertainment, backing such titans as Bradley Walsh, Joe Pasquale, Bobby Davro, Linda Robson, Roy Hudd, Daren Day, Bernard Manning, Max Bygraves, Bobby Crush, Danny Williams, The Bachelors, Beverley Sisters along with decades of panto seasons which has become a speciality. Other stage shows include: Blood Brothers, Singin’ in the Rain, High Society, High School Musical, Grease and in much less enlightened times, the very tail-end of the Black and White Minstrel shows. Running in parallel to the huge amount of live work has been a steady stream of recording, largely within the singer-songwriter spectrum where Chris’s softer and sympathetic approach is well received.
